STAGNATE

No matter how you look, the sky is always gray

When the clouds are all aligned on an overcast day

It doesn't rain, it doesn't pour

It's one big cloud and nothing more

The sky will still be gray, and that will never change

It doesn't move, it doesn't flow

Because it has no place to go

The lake forever stays, and that will never change

No matter how you look, the tree will never sway

When it's dead and bare on a freezing winter's day

It doesn't bend, it doesn't shake

It's far too brittle so it breaks

The tree cannot be swayed, and that will never change

No matter how you look, the rock will be the same

As the weight of everything will keep it stuck in one place

It doesn't roll, it doesn't turn

And yet it never seems to learn

The rock will stay the same, and that will never change

No matter how you look, the feelings fade away

And they leave nothing left but a hole in their place

They lure you in with one good day

But those things never seem to stay

The feelings go away, and that will never change

No matter how you look, I'll never be okay

And everybody that I love never, ever seems to stay

But there's no way that I could say
